What is CinéLive exactly?

CinéLive is a hybrid live format that fuses cinema and theatre. Live performers dance, act or sing on a small stage in front of a large cinema screen. The screen shows cinematographic imagery as scenery, combined with surround sound and voice-over in the local language.

Yes. That is precisely the innovation for which Geert Allaert filed a patent via the Calypso patent office. The projection technique masks shadows and image distortion on the performers.

Do I need to dress up?

Not required. Dress however you're comfortable. Some come more elegantly, that's fine too. The setting is a cinema, not opera-house etiquette.

Yes, from around 8 years recommended. Swan Lake is a classical ballet with dramatic scenes. We are developing separate productions for younger audiences.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Yes, all participating venues (Kinepolis, Pathé, Forest National) are wheelchair accessible. Book with the specific venue for adapted seating.

How much are tickets?

Standard fare: €69.95. Cosy seat (extra legroom and comfort): €79.95. Prices may vary per venue.

What is a 'cosy seat'?

An expanded cinema seat with more legroom, more recline, and sometimes seat service. More comfortable for a 90-minute show without intermission.

What if a performance is cancelled?

You will be notified automatically by the venue where you booked. Tickets are refundable or exchangeable to another date, per the venue's terms.

Are there subtitles or voice-over?

Each tour has a voice-over in the local language. On the Belgian tour that's Dutch, French or English depending on the venue. Music and dance are universal; the voice-over frames the story.

Is there surround sound?

Yes. We utilise the full cinema audio system for immersive music and sound design.
