The CinéLive format was developed by Geert Allaert for Alpa nv, which has licensed its new production formats, along with its patented presentation technique, to CinéLive, which is commercially and artistically led by Bjorn Dobbelaere. Behind the new hybrid format stands the international production legacy and experience of Music Hall, with more than one hundred theatre, dance, and concert productions.

With over twenty-five years of artistic experience spanning musical theatre, opera and theatre, Björn Dobbelaere brings a wealth of international expertise to the podium and the stage. An Honorary Associate of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM) in London, his extensive conducting and directorial credits include The Phantom of the Opera (London, Antwerp), Les Misérables (London, Antwerp, Rotterdam), Wicked (Göteborg), Spring Awakening (Shanghai) and Soldaat van Oranje (Amsterdam). As a driving force behind the company, Björn leads the creative direction and strategic build-out of the CinéLive repertoire.

CinéLive builds on three decades of production know-how from Music Hall. From Capitole Ghent to Vorst Nationaal, from family show to large-scale spectacle. That experience lives in the format, in the logistics, and in every decision about a new title.
